Best Music Festivals of 2016

Ok! So spring and summer are good for nice weather, but both seasons are GREAT for awesome music festivals. I am counting down my top music festivals of 2016. I will also be dishing the deets on my favorite festival fashion!

So what makes a good music festival? I am glad you asked… It first has to have artists people actually want to see, it must be reasonably priced in comparison to the artists that will be performing, it has to have food/drink stands galore, and it has to have a some-what laxed security. Throw in some good weather and if you’ve got yourself a recipe for a crowd full of wild hearts ready to vibe out to awesome music. The following festivals totally rock for those exact reasons:

Coachella (Indio, CA) – At Coachella you are bound to have so many celebrity sightseeing moments. Even though not performing, some of the industry’s best artists are always in attendance. Coachella has gotten so big, Fashion Executives like H&M have launched a Coachella clothing line (containing clothing perfect for the desert humidity). Enjoy live music, live fans, and food that will make your tastebuds come alive. And I mean who doesn’t like Cali? With the best eateries, malls, and night clubs, it’s the ultimate lifestyle/fashion bloggers’ getaway. Get your Lauren Conrad–The Hills vibe in full motion. There’s only one rule: you have to totally pack me in your suitcase.
South by SouthWest (Austin, TX) – A showcase for innovative creatives. See all your favorite rising artists. I was extremely happy to learn that some of my hometown friends were able to showcase their work this year. Emerge yourself in southern culture– accents and barbecue!
Ultra (Miami, FL)– Days of raving ad-nauseam. All those Spring Break babes will be in attendance. Enjoy rebel-hearted youth that just want to have a good time. You are only minutes away from Miami’s premier beaches.
Essence Festival– “known as the party with a purpose, is an annual music festival which started in 1994 as a one-time event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Essence, a magazine aimed primarily towards African-American women.” Always around Fourth of July weekend, sparks will fly, as your favorite R&B or rap artists hit the stage. I cannot wait to get my 1-2 step on this year when Ciara hits the stage. Another great headliner this year is the brilliant and talented Kendrick Lamar.
Okeechobee Fest (Okeechobee, FL)– They had Future perform this year. Need I say more?
Sunfest (West Palm Beach, FL)– Now what kind of girl would I be if I didn’t recognize my hometown? Sunfest is continuously growing. I have been going since I was in middle school. I remember one of my very first Sunfest concerts. It was with Ja Rule. I know you’re like EWWWW Ja Rule 🙁 But he was a pretty big deal back then. My favorite latest Sunfest performers were Kendrick Lamar and J.Cole- artists that feed your appetite for knowledge. This year, “I’ve got that fire in my soul” for G-Eazy! Get your tickets now before they go up…
OVO Fest (Toronto, ON)– One name: DRAKE!
Made in America (PA)– Last year they had Beyonce perform. Who knows what they will have in store this year 😉

Attending any one of these festivals, you are going to need the perfect outfit. Things to think about: you will be standing up for hours and it will be hot. Keeping that in mind, the top festival fashion looks should include: sandals, crops, shorts, rompers, hats, skirts, maxis, and chokers.
