This look has all my faves in one: olive, high slits, thigh highs, andddddd this bomb a** bomber jacket. I was dying for a bomber, so when I stumbled across it I had to have it.
I feel like I’m channeling my inner Kylie and Kim all in one. The bomber jacket is so Kylie, but the monochrome is so Kim. Twenty weeks ago, I posted Kim in a monochrome olive skirt set. You can almost say that her look was my inspo.
This outfit first started off with the heels. They go way above my knee so I knew the heels had to be worn with something really short. I just didn’t think it was going to be a skirt. I was going through my Friday routine: go to work, go get my hair done, and visit Madrag (see previous post “Something Old, Something New”). Just when I thought they did not have anything tasteful in the store, I bumped into this olive skirt set. When I saw the high split, the thigh high boots started flashing in my head like traffic lights. I knew it would be a perfect match.
The skirt set was unbelievably priced. When I took it to the counter to checkout, the cashier could not believe it. She started asking her coworkers to double check the price. As she was doing that I was getting my “confused customer, false advertisement, honoring the price” speech together. Luckily, it was as marked. If green really isn’t your thing, they had this set available in other colors as well.
The bomber jacket is a great accessory. It leaves the outfit right on the cuff of dressy-casual. The gold zipper and buttons are a nice added detail. Gold always gives the illusion of a higher quality. I love the tangerine lining to give the ensemble a pop of color.
With the outfit being monochrome, texturizing is great so that everything does not mesh together. I love the cut-outs in the boots. The ability to scarcely see the skin is so sexy. When monochroming, I like to keep my top and bottom fairly the same color but contrast the look with a slightly different hue for the outerwear.
