South Florida, was so not South Florida this weekend–with temperatures in the 40s it made you not want to go out and do anything (And just to think, I always wanted to move to New York to pursue a career in fashion). Anywho, I mustered up enough courage to brave the bitter wind chill. Mi familia, mi amor, y yo went to Revolutions At City Place: one of the best bowling alleys in the area.

Lol I know what you’re thinking: “This chick wore this in 40 degree weather just to go bowling?”

I am going to have to agree with you guys this time! Maybe the crop top wasn’t a good choice. I was freezing my tooshie off, but I was “cute tho.”

This faux fur vest was gifted to me on Christmas by my mother. She is usually skeptical about buying me clothing because she knows I am very particular, but I must say the ol’ girl did a good job. When I tell you where she got it from you will die!

When I unwrapped it, I immediately fell in love with it. The faux fur is soft. It is actually size large, but she told me it was the last one in the store so I kept it. But it works. The key to wearing anything oversized is that you must pair it with more tailored clothing. An oversized top with oversized pants is a NO, NO, unless aiming for a specific look.

High-waisted trousers work really well with the crop top. It makes the look more reserved because the midriff area is not too exposed. The turtle neck was a deliberate choice. A bare neck wouldn’t have given this look a wintery feel.

I absolutely love these boots. They have weathered two winters with me. They’re suede which gives the outfit a more texturized look, just as if you were to wear leather boots with it. I threw in the floppy hat to give the outfit a more dramatic look. Notice that it too is suede. Having both suede boots and a suede hat bring everything together.
